Our Story
The Texarkana Children's Advocacy Center operates as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization accredited by the National Children's Alliance, CACTX, CACA and is a United Way member. The TCAC was founded in 1996 at the request of local law enforcement and prosecutors to bring the team approach together for child abuse cases. The Texarkana Children's Advocacy Center offers a safe place for children who are victims of abuse and their families to receive comprehensive services from dedicated professionals. These professional services are provided by forensic interviewers, therapists and advocates in a child-friendly environment through a coordinated team approach with local law enforcement, District Attorneys, CPS, etc, as well as community education.
*The National Children's Advocacy Center, located in Huntsville AL, was the first operating CAC created in 1985 and became the model for future CAC's to follow. Today, there are 1000+ CACs now operating in the United States and in more than 33 countries throughout the world.
